Bill opens it himself with a page he titled Knowing You Numbers. No app access comes with this edition. If you want the book and no software, this is the right buy.

Read this before you buy
What exists now, as of September 6, 2026. The app does not exist yet. You are preregistering, not buying working software. What does exist: the cost per mile worksheet and the cockpit on this site, and the book itself.
What your money is a vote for. A phone tool built out of the method in the book, intended to hold fixed costs, variable costs and real miles and give back cost per mile before a load is taken. We build it only if enough drivers preregister. If the demand is not there, we will say so plainly.
What you should know before you buy. Preregistration is not refundable. You keep the book either way, in every case. Nothing renews, there is no stored card and nothing to cancel, and we never charge you at all: Amazon takes the payment and we hold no card. Your months start the day Beta 1 is delivered to preregistrants, meaning the day working app access is live for you, not the day you buy. Amazon runs its own returns policy on the book and we cannot override it. If Amazon refunds a book, the app access granted for that purchase is withdrawn.

How you claim the months
- Buy the App Preregistration Edition on Amazon, in any format above.
- Open the last page of the book. It gives two email addresses.
- Email either one with your Amazon order number or a photo of the receipt. A human reads it and grants the months your format carries. No queue, no ticket system, no chatbot.

Seventeen cents apart. Here is the difference.
The standard Kindle at $9.83 is the book and nothing else. The preregistration Kindle at $10.00 is the same book, 1 month of app access when Beta 1 reaches preregistrants, and a seat in the demonstration and review sessions.
Deciding between the $25.00 paperback and the $50.00 hardcover is deciding between 6 months and 12 months. That is the whole difference. The words inside are identical.
If you want the book and no software, buy the standard one and keep your money. That is a good answer and we will not think less of you for it. If you want a say in what gets built, and you have read the panel above, the preregistration edition is how you get in the room.
3. The workbook
The Glovebox Companion.
The working half of the book. Eleven worksheets, one to a page, in the order the book teaches them. A driver journal, fifty two weeks of daily lines and weekly closes. And a history essay on how the road looks out for its own. No app access comes with it.
